Self-harm and self-destructive patterns usually carry a meaning the person enacting them cannot yet put into words. I take these seriously and carefully, working to understand what they express and what they may be a means of surviving.

I offer individual psychotherapy to adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other long-standing patterns that inhibit creative thinking about the future. My approach is psychoanalytic, sometimes called psychodynamic: rather than quick-fix answers or directive advice, we build a detailed picture of your life and mind, and think carefully about what needs to be better understood.
I am a full member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), and adhere to their codes of ethics and professional practice. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a founding member of Psychotherapy East.
